"History shows again and again
how nature points up the folly of men."
On opening day of Pittsburgh's new baseball-only stadium, the great kaiju Rodan flew down from its home in the arctic. Rodan's attack killed thousands including both teams, the mayor and all his cronies who had push through public funding in spite of the referendum that overwhelmingly voted against such funding.
While many mourned the loss of life, there were those who thought that justice had been served because of the way that the Mayor had made the people pay for something they didn't want.
At least, that's the story from "Godzilla vs. the Robot Monsters" where Rodan's only action in the book is to fly down and destroy the stadium. This cautionary tale was presented by the author who is also one of the taxpayers forced to help pay for the stadium we didn't want.
