Current Goal

I would like to travel far and wide, spreading the message of bike awareness. I would like to visit each state in this great land of ours, and have my picture taken with a sign naming the capital of the state. At some point, I would like to travel to South-Central PA or Western MD to visit SgtMikal.

About This Item

One of my biggest worries about bikes is the heightened sense of awareness that is necessary to ride safely. Both the rider as well as all of the other drivers on the road need to be ever-mindful of the potential presence of bikes on the road. Unfortunately, when mistakes are made, it is the biker who suffers the brunt of the damage. I had a friend who went to Penn State to major in Physical Therapy. One day, while riding his motorcycle, he saw a soccer game being played. At that instant, someone came out in front of him, and he hit the car. He was wearing a helmet, and his only physical injury was a sprained thumb. However, his brain suffered some damage, and he had to re-learn how to do everything. That was so painful to watch. As a result, I try to be ever-mindful of bikes.

Please watch mirrors when in cars or trucks. When on bikes, please don't assume that people see you...be as careful and respectful as possible. Lives depend on it!

    This coin was placed in a cache on 7/8/09. The cache was apparently muggled shortly thereafter, as it has not been found since. I am marking the coin missing, but I really hope the coin resurfaces. Please let me know if you have seen it, as this was the first geocoin ever given to me! It was adopted to me, and I never even got to see it in person. Thanx!
