Picked up the travel bug and will move it along the line. It will end up in N.T. in hopes that some of the locals will have a chance to find this Jeep also.

What an adventure we had with our little Jeep! Picture this: Jeep TB, dense forest, darkness, elk and coyotes! Being that we don’t have a Jeep 4x4, it took us FOREVER to get up the mountain in Elk State Forest where we were after a cache with a Jeep TB. We set up camp about .8 miles from the cache and headed for it. After finding our little yellow buddy, there were several mishaps from running out of daylight to dead flashlights. After the GPS zeroed in on camp at about 400 yards away, the batteries went dead. We decided we had to make camp in a clearing. We built up a fire, and although we were going to sleep in shifts, neither of us really slept. We could hear elk in the forest rubbing the velvet off their antlers for awhile. Then around 3am we were about to have visitors. Coyotes! The pack sounded to be of about 8 or 9, including their scout who was to the north of us, with the rest to the east. They came on the run just ahowling and barking straight for us! Driven1 stood up and you could almost hear them bumping into each other to stop. What a long few hours that turned into. As long as we kept the fire up (and with no nearby wood that wasn't as easy as it sounds), they stayed away. As the fire died down you could hear them moving around just out of our limited sight distance. Finally dawn came and around 5:30 we decided to head to camp. It took us about 7 minutes to get there, we were that close. Needless to say, we had us quite an adventure this weekend, and we have the Jeep TB to thank for it!

    • Trail Tested. Jeep Tough! The hill was a bit tough, but our Jeep made it up with no problem. Checked out the Cache, CITO'd the place and admired the view. Took a quick pic with the Jeep and we were off to the next Cache!

After a very sweaty and buggy hike up the hill we were rewarded with this Jeep TB. Will drop it off soon in an appropriate cache.

Decided to place my Jeep TB in this cache at first because I thought I could get close to it by 4-wheeling but that didn't pan out. Still placed it here because you have to really work at getting to the top of this mountain and this will be your prize for making it there.
