I was gifted this promotional Cache Crate Adventures Tag for attending Lookout Lisa's Trunk-Or-Treat Cacher Style Halloween Geo-Event this year! (GCA0Y0Z)
I have attached the tag to an official Cache Crate pen that I got in one of my monthly Cache Crates!! The mission for this tag and pen is to travel from cache to cache to provide a pen for geocachers to sign the logbook with!! As a geocacher who owns and maintains some 250ish geocaches, I can understand how frustrating it is to get that dreaded "didn't have a pen." log......this tag is to remind all geocachers that one of the biggest parts of the geocaching process is to SIGN THE CACHE LOG!!!! Don't have a pen? Come back later when you are prepared. This concept is a debate at almost every geocaching event with opinions varying in strength, but generally the same. Don't have a pen = didn't find the cache. I don't delete logs near as often as some cache hiders I know, but I am equally frustrated by this trend. Sure, we all end up losing a pen now and then. Lost your pen along the way? Come up with a fun story, an amusing anecdote, SOMETHING about how you lost your pen and signed in blood. LOL. If you give me a funny story, I won't delete your log. Say "Didn't have a pen." or "Didn't sign the log.", etc, there is a good chance your log will be deleted. It's simple. BYOP - Bring your own pen. Sign the log or don't attempt to log the cache online. BYOP on your Cache Crate Adventures!!
