Get me back to Washington's Highest Peak! (Or nearby at least!)
When European explorers first made their way to the Pacific Northwest, they named the mountain traditionally known to the indigenous in the area as Talol, Tacoma, Tahoma, or Ti'Swaq' in honor of Rear Admiral Peter Rainier, a British Officer who fought against the United States in the Revolutionary War.
Personally, I think there couldn't be anything more patriotic than stripping this mountain of the name of a man who fought against this country and replacing it with its traditional and true name, given by the original Americans. In recent years there has been a resurgence in the fight to rename the mountain.
