Smokey's Cousin has had quite a trip the last few days and has had his picture taken several times but my daughter was the photographer so I will have to post them later.
October 21st he drove with us from Highlands Ranch, CO to Grand Canyon, AZ. Thursday, October 22, he hiked down the South Kaibab Trail to Phantom Ranch and spent two nights in a "rustic" cabin built somewhere between 1922 & 32. On Friday, Octomber 23rd, he hiked with us 6+ miles one way on the North Kaibab Trail to beautiful Ribbon Falls and back to the cabin for a rest. Saturday, October 24th, he hiked 10.5 miles with us out of the Canyon on the Bright Angel Trail then rode back to Highlands Ranch with us, arriving at 4am Sunday.. So he had over 30 miles of hiking in 3 days and will be resting with me 'til I can find a nice cache for him.

Don't know how the logs show that I place Smokey's Cousin in the cache but I did not. So... I'm having to retrieve him again because he's still in my possession. May take him to Grand Canyon National Park next week.

Back in the woods, with the other Bears! Today we placed it in Cave Creek Cache, above some Beaver Ponds... and yes, there are Black Bears nearby.
