Bobbin' Along would like to go on a tour of Europe's Lacemaking countries eventually reaching Scandinavia where a special lacemaking tradition is still kept alive, Tønder Lace. Along the way Bobbin would also like to visit other lacemaking countries including Belgium, Holland, Germany, France, Spain, Portugal, Denmark, Sweden, Norway and parts of Eastern Europe including Hungary.
Bobbin would especially love to be photographed on a lace pillow with other bobbins or with the lacemakers themselves, and would also loved to be photographed with people in regional and traditional dress.

This TB is a Lace Bobbin of the English Midlands style. 'Bobbin' was once used on the lacepillow but has been retired. In the photo above Bobbin is lying next to antique bobbins in my collection, with the Bedfordshire lace in the photo was made by me using an original 1860's parchment.
I demonstrate 17th, 18th and 19th century English lacemaking in full costume, keeping a 400 year old UK tradition alive.
I hope to see Bobbin eventually return to the UK, to be placed in a Leicester cache.
