After spending 20 years as a firefighter I have let go of this special coin to travel all over the US and the world so we never forget! Make sure to stop at a firehouse on my travels and thank a fireman. Don’t forget to take a picture of me there.
September 11th 2001, terrorists flew hijacked planes into the World Trade Center towers. At the sound of the bell, firefighters from all over the city rushed to the scene and while everyone was running out, the firefighters knowing how bad it was still ran into the infernos to save as many lives as they could. Once the towers collapsed, 343 firefighters paid the ultimate sacrifice.
On May 1st 2011, 4 months shy of 10 year anniversary Seal Team Six on a special mission killed Osama Bin Laden who was the leader who ordered the attacks on America. In memory of we got you and to never forget the 343 firefighters and the countless innocent victims, this travel coin was made.
