About This Item

The BIG Duck


 

The BIG Duck is located in Flanders Long Island New York. It was placed on the National Register of Historic Places. It was built in 1932. It was built like many other roadside attractions that dotted America in the early to mid 20th century. Needless to say this BIG Duck is a Long Island landmark! Peking Duck came to Long Island by a Long Island sailor who brought back 9 of the snowy white orange beak ducks from China in 1870! More info is available from the websites below!

I’ve been over here (Oz and NZ) almost three weeks and this is the first TB I’ve found (I brought and left 3). I’m happy to bring it home, which means the USA, but at least to a place it hasn't been. If you rather I left it in New Zealand, let me know now, because I leave in one day. I’ll try to find a photo representing where I found it.
