Diese Coin soll an die große "Dinosaurier Jagd" am Ende des 19. Jahrhunderts erinnern, als zwei amerikanische Wissenschaftler (Paläontologen Edward Drinker Cope und Othniel Charles Marsh) sich gegenseitig mit Funden und Publikationen über die Dinosaurier zu überbieten versuchten. Tatsächlich war diese große Rivalität zwischen den beiden streitenden Wissenschaftler während der Bone Wars sehr ergiebig: sie haben enorm viele Fossilien aus dem Mesozoikum gesammelt, eine große Anzahl an Dinosaueriergattungen entdeckt, und mit ihren Publikationen den Grundstein der Dinosaurierforschung gelegt. Die Coin ist daher auch sehr besonders geworden. Mit nachtleuchtendem Rex-Skelett, mit ausbrechendem Velociraptor im 3D-Relief, und zwei Hintegrundfarben- eine Farbe für Cope, eine Farbe für Marsh.

This coin is supposed to commemorate the great "dinosaur hunt" at the end of the 19th century, when two American scientists (paleontologists Edward Drinker Cope and Othniel Charles Marsh) tried to outdo each other with findings and publications about the dinosaurs. In fact, this great rivalry between the two quarreling scientists was very fruitful during the Bone Wars: they collected an enormous number of fossils from the Mesozoic era, discovered a large number of dinosaur genera, and with their publications laid the foundation for dinosaur research. The coin has therefore also become very special. With a glow-in-the-dark Rex skeleton, with an erupting Velociraptor in 3D relief, and two background colors - one color for Cope, one color for Marsh.

Es ist schon immer wieder erstaunlich, worüber Männer streiten können, wer den größeren ....
Dinosaurierknochen hat.....
Eine schöne und sehr interessante Coin!
Eine würdige Bereicherung Deiner unfassbar einzigartigen Sammlung, die inzwischen so groß ist, dass ich es aufgegeben habe, mit Loggen hinterherkommen zu wollen.
Ich hoffe allerdings, dass ich jetzt in der Quarantäne ein paar Fortschritte machen kann - bitte verzeih den Einheitslog.
