I would like Lola's Rouge to travel back to it's original workplace some 80 years ago,The Ford Rouge Plant in Dearborn, Michigan. If possible, I'd like a picture of it at the plant. Hopefully, someday it will return to me in Augusta, Georgia and back into my collection.
One of my passions has always been collecting and restoring Model A Ford Automobiles. My first Model A, a National Award Winner, was named "Lola" by my wife. When I asked her why she chose that name she answered, "have you ever heard the song..Whatever Lola Wants, Lola Gets"? Nuff said!
Henry Ford build, among other things, Model A's at the Rouge Plant and workers would use the brass "tool check" when they needed a special tool. When the tool was returned the worker would get the tag back. Notice the name "Rouge" embossed on the tag along with the workers number X2278.
I'm launching the tag all polished up and looking pretty for it's journey. If you find it needing a quick "rub" with brasso, I'd appreciate the effort!
