Current Goal

Der TB sollte so viele Länder wie möglich besuchen und falls irgenwie möglich auch Quneitra besuchen, welches ein halbes Jahr meine Heimat war. Ich weiss, daß das extrem schwierig ist, aber der Tb hat Zeit und vielleicht bessert sich die Situation vor Ort ja zukünftig wieder.

UNITED NATIONS  - In the service of peace


Dieser TB wurde von mir als Erinnerung an meinen Einsatz für die UN-Schutztruppe am Golan (UNDOF) auf die Reise geschickt.


Die Mission existierte von 1974 - 2013 und umfasste bis zu 3 Kompanien unter österreichischer Führung. Darunter im Bereich der I.Kompanie den höchsten, ständig besetzten UNO-Stützpunkt auf dem Berg Hermon (genannt Hermon-Hotel) auf 2814 Meter.


Die II. Kompanie war im Bereich der Grenze zu Israel bei Quneitra (eine zerstörte Stadt) stationiert. Sie hatte 5 so genannte Position und ca. 80 Mann. Dort war ich im Jahre 2011/2012 im Einsatz.

    As I was in Central London, I thought this was an appropriate place to drop this United Nations TB. A rare place that fits a flat TB for such a busy place. I hope it will be moved on real soon.
