To re-cache this took way, way too long
Though on two longish flights came along.
    CA events preclusive
    Caching time proved elusive
    (completely)
And so set to Blues sings this song.

But out on a bright Texas Sunday
We determined today'd be the fun day
Though we blush with some shame
    Overhead flew THREE planes
And AT LAST this poor TB's back off down the runway

Despite best intentions, languished way too long. Sorry.

Diecast metal amid the bug choice
Oh the memories that you give voice
Deep to time of World War foray
And more recent, startled in Half Moon Bay
Driving, oe'r decade ago, with dining in store
There, at the airport, next to B-24!
The tail, broad skyfin, a beacon bold
Inviting us to investigate, and hear stories told.

It was astounding, that day, to see a B-17 parked at the Half Moon Bay airport. [And the B-24, even rarer sighting.]
We toured... maybe I'll post pix, but it really was over a decade ago -- I'll have to find them. We went back and watched those big old birds lift off to their next destination, several fighters and trainers flying "cover." Really cool. But then, I guess, I get my love of aircraft from addicted Dad, eh? [He's even ground-looped an AT-6.]

    B-17s, flying fortresses. Legendary....
Wish I could whisk you off to the Pima Air Museum; but we'll see what we can do.
