All snowflakes have six sides. The largest snowflake ever recorded was 15 inches (381 millimetres) in diameter. The average snowflake falls at a speed of 3.1 milesper hour or 5 kilometres per hour. Snow is actually not white (or yellow - lol) but translucent. About about a million billion snowflakes fall each second, averaged over a typical year. Ponder that!!
