Grabbed this TB, and hope to visit a few states before I travel home.
Home being upstate New York, in the Adirondack Mountains!
Bear, fox, coyote, fishers, beavers, deer, moose (occasionally), and all sorts of fish and birds make their home in the Adirondacks.
A few of the things we do for fun include hiking, rock climbing, and geocaching. Other people like to hunt and fish. No seahorses nearby, as the ocean is several hours away. But we do love to play, swim, canoe and kayak in the many rivers and lakes. Whitewater rafting is a favorite with the tourists, and it is awesome fun!
There are many historical forts, cemeteries and battlefields to explore as well, having to do with the French and Indian War, and the Revolutionary War.
The terrain is quite rocky and mountainous.
We speak English, although there are Indian Reservations a few hours away, and they may speak their tribe's dialect (such as Mohawk).
One of our favorite foods at this time of year is blueberries, specifically Crane Mountain blueberries! We follow the trail up the mountain to the blueberries and sometimes pick til dark, or whenever we can fit in the time. So far we have picked over 5 gallons, which is over 20 pies! We freeze the berries, and have blueberry pie for Thanksgiving and Christmas.
This trackable was found in San Angelo State Park at the end of July, where it is hot and dry (but humid). In New York right now the temperatures are about 70 degrees, with thunderstorms here and there. The trees, grass and bushes are all very green.
I go geocaching when the opportunity allows. I have been brought to so many cool places by geocaching! And I love moving the trackables in the direction they need to go :)
Happy travels!
