If you are logging this trackable, it is entirely likely that you and I met at a Scouting event! Let me give you a slightly longer introduction.
My name is Kate, but my Cubs call me "Oonai". The origins of this name for Leaders is tough to track down. I've read both Jungle Books and didn't find it. What we think, however, is that Oonai was the name given to the Mother Wolf (later Raksha) in the first edition of "The Jungle Book". If you know any more about it, please let me know!
I have been a Leader with 1st Maroondah "Yowie" Cubs for over eight years, and love it. We have a great team of Leaders running a large Pack. There is a tradition of Guiding and Scouting in my family. My mother was a Cub Leader, as were her parents. As I child I was a Brownie, a Guide and a Junior Leader in Guides. As an adult I was a Guide Leader for a few years. But after having sons, the Pack needed new Leaders and ... well ... you know that THAT story goes! My brother and sister also went through Scouts and Guides, and my brother is one of my fellow Leaders. My sons are in Venturers now, with one linking to Rovers, but I'm still in Cubs, and still loving it
