In 1974 I became a Boy Scout in the 49 Council in the Cherokee district at Lodi California. Scouting has been part of who I am since that time. I attained the rank of Eagle in Troop 75 in Clear Lake Iowa under the guidance of Mr. Kennedy our Scout Master. Later in 1980 I help establish an Explorer Post at the American Red Cross in Rock Island Illinois. In 1984 I attended Wood Badge at NC-412 in the Bear Patrol. Since that time I have given back to Scouting as often as possible. In 1984 I participated in the training and setup of Iowa's first COPE course. In 1987 I became an Assistant Scout Master under Ed McCarthy at Troop 30, White Bluff Presbyterian in Savannah GA while assigned to the 1st BN 75th Rangers. There we gave many hours to the setup and improvements of Camp Blue Heron. In 2005 I became my son's Cub Scout Leader at Troop 650, Grace Community Church Rincon GA. In 2008 I suffered a tragic skydiving accident and by many miracles survived to become an Assistant Scout Master in my son's Troop 665 in Rincon GA. In 2011 I attended the Wood Badge for the 21st Century at Coastal Empire's new Black Creek Reservation Camp in the Eagle Patrol. In the year 2013 the Boy Scouts of America.
Released as we head to BSA Camp Rainey Mountain near Clayton, GA for summer camp with our troop.
