Approximately 75 percent of all fire departments in the country are volunteer organizations, as is the North Park Fire Rescue Authority. Like all fire departments, this one, with its small membership performs duties ranging from structure fires to pet rescue, car accidents to wildland fires, ice rescue to hazardous material incidents in an area known as North Park, Jackson County, Colorado.
North Park is the headwaters of the North Platte River in the north-central mountains of Colorado. This 1600 square mile valley has acres of hay meadows, sagebrush ranges, and mountainous forests that have been ravaged with beetle kill. Training is ongoing as we are on our own in this isolated area.
As we protect life and property, the North Park Fire Rescue motto is EVERYONE GOES HOME.
