This BCGA 2011 Coin Proxy is in a race! I've placed it and another identical one in a cache here in Langley, BC, Canada. This one is traveling west. The other is traveling east. It's a race around the world!
Why a proxy and not the actual geocoin? It's simple, really.. I used to release geocoins, but after a few went missing, I decided that I wasn't going to spend the money on geocoins for others to lose or take. This way, if a proxy goes missing, I can always re-release it while keeping the actual coin. You still get the icon for discovering/moving this proxy.
