On February 7th, 2008 a geocaching family in Alaska had a geocoin aboard NASA’s space shuttle STS-122. This coin traveled 5,296,842 miles and 202 orbits around the earth.
To commemorate the event Christopher Rake designed a coin honoring the “First Geocoin in Orbit”.
