Seaman was the trusty canine companion of Meriwether Lewis, and was at his owner's side throughout the famous "Corp of Discovery" expedition. Captain Lewis and his partner William Clark, set out to explore and map the great unknown west under the order of President Thomas Jefferson in 1804. The Lewis and Clark expedition was an adventure the likes of which we can hardly imagine now. It was fraught with danger, discovery and excitement. Lewis and Clark had no idea what they would find - wooly mammoths, volcanoes, perhaps dinosaurs? - when they began their epic journey. They made friends along the way, marveled at the Grand Canyon, were shaken to the core by the vastness of the Rocky Mountains and at long last beheld the majesty of the Pacific.
