Current Goal

I want to fly as far south as it is physically possible on the earth.  My goal is to make it to Anartica and ideally the South Pole. I know there was a geocache at the South Pole (GC2BX66) when I was set free to soar south in September of 2011. I want to be the first Eagle to make it to the South Pole, can you help me get there? I can't really fly that well so I really, really need the help of people to get there.. I know there aren't all that many people who ever make it to the South Pole, let alone, one who is also a geocacher too. But I can hope and Eagles don't give up easily so I hope I may be found by someone eventually who will be just the right person to get me to that final goal. If I make it all the way, I might become known as the Great Snow Eagle of the South!  Perhaps in the years that follow people will tell of the legend of the Golden Eagle who flew to the South Pole, grew white feathers and became the Great Snow Eagle.

The person who set me free to make my way South was 71 years old at the time he sent me on my way. It's his desire to see me make it to the Pole in the time he has left here in his present form. Neither he, nor I are in a great hurry but it would be nice if he were able to know I made it OK. This is such a great task and undertaking, I hate to ask those of you that help me to do much more than move me from cache to cache, but if you will, keep my original benefactor informed of where I am from time to time and if you can, send pictures too. By the way, I am not expecting that I will be brought back to my place of origin but, if others see fit to send me back go ahead,  I am not so sure there will be anyone there to greet me upon my return, but hey, who knows?. Please everybody, have fun, be well, be happy, and be peaceful.  Adidaphat!

About This Item

Tiny golden colored metal cast of an eagle in flight - attached to the travel bug. He has no special meaning beyond the great beauty, grace and dignity that any eagle displays when he is in flight. Not a bad symbol for the wonder and amazement of all living beings.
