Current Goal

Jan. 2002 Katydid is one of the dogs the Ratdogs Geocachers are named after. She also wants to head up to WA, as close to Woodinville as she can get (N of Seattle), to visit her friend Maggie dog.

About This Item

Katydid original original ratdog

Nov. 6, 2007 Amazingly, we set Katydid travel dog off on a geocaching adventure almost 8 years ago. She traveled the east coast, the west, and many places in between. Sadly, by the time she made it up to WA, her beloved cousin, Maggie (Puppers) had passed away. But she was able to visit Maggie's memorial cache recently. We hope she has a few more adventures in the Northwest before traveling south to Southern Ca, where we would love to see her again!

Had no idea what Katydid's new goal was. Boy, did I bring her the wrong direction! She's in the South, but not Southern California! Brought her home with me to Hickory, North Carolina--furniture capitol of the U.S. I'll try to drop her off near I-40 and maybe she'll hitch a ride West. Sorry about the detour, but if she's never been to North Carolina, she going to love it here!

Grabbed Katydid from Puppers. Will be taking it up to the Mt. Baker area in the next couple weeks - planning a caching trip, so we'll find a good spot to drop it off :-D

***Update! After chatting with the owner of Katydid Ratdog, I decided to bring this down to Missouri over the Christmas Holiday. I managed to find a cache in the park where I married my ex husband! LOL :-D I added a note in the TB Bag indicating that it's on a new mission.

Anyway, Glad that I could get this one traveling to a new place - looking forward to seeing where else it goes!

Katydid has finally made it to Woodinville and the Puppers family! We'll enjoy her for a few days before taking her to visit Maggie's memorial cache (In Memory of Puppers).

The Maggie that Katydid was going to visit was 'our' Maggie, namesake of Puppers who passed away last November. Katydid feels bad that her journey took so long but she is grateful for all the nice people and dogs she met on the way. Katydid would like to honor Maggie by visiting her memorial cache ("In Memory of Puppers") before heading home. Maggie's humans have offered their assistance should Katydid need a ride to the cache.

I know it does not seem like it, but this travel bug is getting closer and closer to Northern Seattle. I live in Renton and will move it back to that area. Thanks for sharing!
