To travel to many caches, but it needs help because crawling is slow, and, "it'll never fly."
This TB is a replica of a Swallowtail Butterfly larva. These caterpillars eat the leaves of willow, birch, cherry and poplar trees. The larva turns into a chrysalis and finally becomes a large, colorful butterfly. Several types of Swallowtails are commonly seen in Minnesota. This TB looks much like a Black Swallowtail. You will see them drinking nectar from phlox, milkweed, beebalm and sunflowers.
