About This Item

Stella the Airstream

Model vintage Airstream trailer.  Stella is the name of my 1971 Airstream (see photo). Wally Byam deveolped the Airstream and his wife was named Stella.

This Stella also commemorates a incident which occurred camping at Sumner Lake, NM when my I had a plumbing leak I was trying to fix. My wife said I reminded her of Brando's Stanley Kowalski's "HEY STELLA" in A Street Car Named Desire. I also found a toy character at the campsite which portrays my new approach to life (see photo) and led to my Airstream's name.

This bug is also dedicated to my son Everest who was visiting from New York and placed this bug with me. Everest did a lot of hiking, backpacking and paddling with me back in the Adirondacks,
