History of the Rubber Duck

Made Famous By: Jim Henson in the 1970's performing "Rubber Duckie" as the character, Ernie, on Sesame Street.

Other Rubber Duck Facts:

Early rubber duckies were made out of heavy rubber and did not squeak.
Modern rubber duckies are made of vinyl/plastic.
Some bath toy ducks actually can squirt water out of their mouths.
Most modern rubber ducks have a hole in the bottom that allows them to make a squeaking noise. Some have a sound chip on the inside that when squeezed, make a real duck quack sound.
