Our mission is to circulate this TB all over the country, and invite Corvette enthusiasts to visit our website.
Our Corvette club was established in 1980 in the Laurel Mountain valley town of Uniontown, Pennsylvania. The club has expanded in the past 28 years to include 130+ members from five adjoining counties of Southwestern Pennsylvania.
Our club has always emphasized club activities that are not only beneficial to the members, but are beneficial to the community as well. Participation in local events, such as the annual "Americanism Day Parade" in Uniontown and the Hopwood "National Pike Festival Parade," are just some examples of our community involvement. Transporting the Laurel Highlands High School's "Homecoming Court" from the high school to the football field, via Corvette, is another. We have also staged a Corvette display at the local nursing home of Mount Saint Macrina where the patients enjoy seeing the Corvettes and voting for their favorites. Three years ago our club celebrated its Silver Anniversary. We marked this milestone year with a family-style summer picnic, followed by a road trip to Corvette country - Bowling Green, Kentucky. Our group of 25 members toured the National Corvette Museum and the Corvette and Cadillac XLR Factory.
Our club activities are enjoyed year-around with monthly membership meetings held January through October. Spring and autumn driving events include an annual "Road Trip" overnight stay. Our signature events include the "Corvettes & Jaguars at Linden Hall" show and the "Vette Together" Corvette Cruise series. We have, and will continue to participate in larger-scale events, such as the "WPCCC All Corvette Club Cruise," "Corvettes @ Carlisle" and Bowling Green, Kentucky events centered on the Corvette Assembly Plant and the National Corvette Museum. Our yearly activities end on a party note as we gather for the annual "Christmas Party / Dinner" event in December. All of our events are documented in the club's monthly newsletter, the Vette Gazette, which is now distributed via e-mail. Our club website is presently listed as: http://clubs.hemmings.com/lvcc/ and is another valuable source of club information.
