About This Item

The Pirate's Mascot ROAD TOAD

Stories like the Legend of Sleepy Hollow or Wind in the Willows live on in this modern day world of GPSr's and Geocaches. Our little green friend the ROAD TOAD of Toad Hall is still running about in his jaunty attire in his old jalopy. It seems Mr. Toad is trying to be part of all this modern day high tech stuff, but still he is a country bumpkin. He left his Toad Hall in Bethlehem Pennsylvania about 3/14/02 and hitched a ride to Florida with the Pirates as the Pirates mascot. The Pirates couldn't find a parrot so they had to settle for a TOAD. The Pirates were off for adventures on the high seas. And Toad being a land lubber wanted no part of it. So once in Florida TOAD hopped away from the Pirates and into the wild to have his own adventures. There he found a Geocache to settle into and wait and see what surprises and adventures were in store. He hopes cachers will help him to see the country and hitch his way back to the Northeast coast and return to the Bethlehem PA and the Christmas City. There he can tell of his adventures. He’s carrying his own traveling log book and hopes all will tell of other stories and adventures they have with him. The stories add to the retelling upon his return and he hopes along “his” Trails and “yours” there are many. Posting pictures of his encounters increases the experience if you like. Help the little jaunty critter jog and hop along his journey for he no longer has his jalopy for motive power and must rely on yours. Send him back to the glacier hills, valleys, trees and bogs of Eastern PA by delivering him to caches along the way. After all he’s hitche-n his wagon to a star. The wise men said the star is in the east hope you can help him along his way. Enjoy your journeys and adventures with him. The journey’s is half the adventure in traveling and that always puts the fun in the trip. The ROAD TOAD's Mascot keeper and animal friend, The Pirate and Pirate Wench.
