Found War Memorial #2060 - Castle Douglas today, number 1,040 find for me. Out from Dumfries today & did a wee tour to the New Abbey Corn Mill (no water in pond so no working, abbey closed too).

Had a lovely lunch & then ice cream in Castle Douglas, then Mrs was attracted to ladies clothing shop & I walked over to the war memorial to pay my respects. Got over ok but got stuck there for a while with traffic! Earthcache was a good way to commemorate the fallen.

Found Scottish Sandstone Soup today, number 1,039 find for me. Down in Dumfries for a few days, been to the museum & camera obscura but the obscura was closed due to the weather (it was showery but not the downpour we got earlier!

Walking back towards the suspension bridge I noticed this Earthcache & quickly jotted down the answers (sent to you) & took a couple of photos.

Found Church micro 9231 ... Dumfries - Crichton Memorial today number 1,038 find for me. Lovely to look round the church & then walk to here. Thought I couldn't find it & tried one more time with a bit more bravery ... Found it - signed TM&D for brevity.

Now back to the hotel & find the Mrs!

Found ELGATO Geobug Hotel today, number 1,037 find for me.

Had a lovely walk round the grounds, lunch at the cafe & in the house all amazing. Didn't think there would be a Geocache here but nevertheless lovely to find one.

Took a bit of wandering to find the Geocache & it was very wet when I did find it but the trusty wallet pen worked on it. Unfortunately I didn't have any replacement paper or bags for fix this one.
