PLEASE KEEP THIS GEOCOIN MOVING!! It wants to travel the world so that as many geocachers as possible can collect its icon. If it gets to visit Colorado some day, that would be great, but it is in no hurry, and it doesn't have to stay there, either. If you can post a photo of it on its travels, that would be great! The Rocky Mountain Columbine (Aquilegia caerulea) is the official State Flower of Colorado. Zebulon Pike's expedition of 1806 is the first recorded sighting of Pikes Peak by non-natives. In 1820, Edwin James, the botanist on the Long Expedition, reached the top of the peak, and wrote the first botanical description of the flower, which he saw growing on the slopes.
