At this stage this coin will be kept on me.
As I am a firefighter who fought in the 2009 bushfires this is a geocoin I do not wish to loose. I will let other geocachers discover me at events and also friends and fellow geocachers I run into as it travels around from cache to cache with me.
As many as 400 individual fires were recorded on 7 February.
The Black Saturday bushfires, were a series of bushfires that ignited or were burning across the Australian state of Victoria on and around Saturday 7 February 2009 during extreme bushfire-weather conditions, resulting in Australia's highest ever loss of life from a bushfire. 173 people died as a result of the fires and 414 were injured.

Contrary to popular belief the Sam (The Koala) encounter as depicted on this coin was not from the "Feb 7" Fires, the video was taken in January during backburning operations around Mirboo North.
