R2D2 would like to visit places where man undertakes Space Exploration. NASA etc.

About This Item

R2D2

The force has long left this version of R2D2 but he is ever hopefull of getting back into space. Until then he would love to be photographed with space craft of all descriptions. He is also on the look out for his friend C3P0 to have a chat with. If you can help please do.

During our stay we let R2D2 phone home (a good excuse for going to see the telescope anyhow during our holiday). At Effelsberg, the largest European radiotelescope, we have linked op our mobile phone with this huge antenna (using 'The Force') and let R2D2 speak with C3PO in a Galaxy Far Far Away (you can easily do this by 'letter dialing'). C3PO is now informed of the planet position where R2D2 resides and Solo will take C3PO here to meet him. They have agreed to communicate via geocaching.com. Regards, De Zwedies. We let R2D2 'phone home' from the large radiotelescope at Effelsberg (Germany). We had the intention of leaving R2D2 there in a cache in the neighbourhood. This mission was unsuccesful however. So we dropped R2D2 off in Luxemburg near Vianden. He has a nice view at the moment. From this Cybercafé we can't upload the picture. We will do this after our holiday is over. Greetings, De Zwedies.

We found R2D2 near de Euro Space center in Belgium. We will try to let him see space things in Germany or Holland (Noordwijk, ESA). greetings De Zwedies.

Pick this one up from WHW day 1. I'll get his picture taken with an astronaught and then find him a new home someplace nice -edit: in the end i could not hold this promise up. My dad had a problem with me asking Dave Scott to have his pic taken with R2D2 seeing as he knows the man and would be seeing him after. :( - looks like i'll just have to get r2d2's pic taken with all the spacey stuff in my house.
