    Simply had to take this one as my sister (barefootmaria) lives up that way in Washington, Tyne & Wear.Will try to find an appropriate place asap. Thanks for sharing this lovely coin.

    • Augustus John, Fordingbridge - portrait painter. Painted the likes of T.E.Lawrence. Born in Wales, died in Fordingbridge. Not a very attractive statue! Under the arches of the bridge in the background are the old 14th century arches of the original bridge.
