Current Goal

This ultra-cool green-speckled guitar's goal is to travel to the county of Cambridgeshire, England, which inspired Roger Waters to write Grantchester Meadows and play it as part of Pink Floyd's experimental Ummagumma album. What a blast. Waters was in Cambridgeshire because Barrett lived there. Incidentally, so did Gilmour. May this coin inspire the finder to fire up Ummagumma on her or his MP3 player or equivalent device. If the coin makes it to GC12VM6, then whoever discovers it thereafter may keep it, as long as he or she makes some kind of donation to The Wildlife Trust for Bedfordshire, Cambridgeshire, Northamptonshire and Peterborough (http://www.wildlifebcnp.org/). If the finder cannot, or will not, make a donation, then she or he should leave the coin in a Cambridgeshire or neighbouring county cache.

About This Item

"Icy wind of night be gone this is not your domain"
In the sky a bird was heard to cry.
Misty morning whisperings and gentle stirring sounds
Belie the deathly silence that lay all around.

Hear the lark harken to the barking of the dog fox
Gone to ground.
See the splashing of the kingfisher flashing to the water.
And a river of green is sliding unseen beneath the trees
Laughing as it passes through the endless summer
Making for the sea.

In the lazy water meadow I lay me down.
All around me golden sun flakes settle on the ground.
Basking in the sunshine of a bygone afternoon
Bringing sounds of yesterday into this city room.

Hear the lark and harken to the barking of the dog fox
Gone to ground.
See the splashing of the kingfisher flashing to the water.
And a river of green is sliding unseen beneath the trees.
Laughing as it passes through the endless summer
Making for the sea.

In the lazy water meadow I lay me down.
All around me golden sun flakes covering the ground.
