About This Item

Paper Crane

There is a Japanese legend that anyone who folds 1000 paper cranes will be granted a wish.

Sadako Sasaki was a young girl in Hiroshima, Japan who developed leukemia after being exposed to radiation from the atomic bomb. She began folding paper cranes in the hospital, wishing for a cure. Her story is now famous around the world and a statue of her stands in the Hiroshima Peace Park.

Our wish was that this paper crane would make it to Hiroshima, Japan. It came true!
