Current Goal

The girls of Girl Scout Troop 1047 made this and three sister travel bugs. They would like to see them travel far and fast! Please help them continue to learn about geocaching as well as new and interesting places by moving this TB along. In order to keep the TB moving please avoid placing in difficult puzzle caches and TB hotels. The four TB's would like to re-unite in Westlake, Ohio in a couple of years.

About This Item

Girl Scout Troop 1047 Try-It TB 7

The girls of Troop 1047 created four travel gugs and a geocache as part of earning the Geocaching "Try-It" badge. Try-Its are designed to introduce girls to new activities and let them try it out - proficiency is not required or expected. In order to earn their badge, they also had to do the following:
* Learn what GPS stands for and how/why they are used;
* Learn the difference between latitude and longitude;
* Learn what geocaching is about and why it is so fun;
* Visit geocaching.com and see how many caches are near where the troop meets; and
* Find a cache.

Each girl created her own strand of beads to add to one of the four TB's. Please feel free to add you own small strand of beads or other small hitchhiker. To open the hook, gently slide the plastic tube down, open the hook, and then be sure to slide the tube back up to keep the hook from accidentally opening.

Throughout the year, the girls will be checking up on their TB's to see where they have traveled. Please be sure to included interesting facts in your TB log and LOTS of photos. If you are a current or former Girl Scout, please post your troop number in your log entry.
