About This Item

Commodore 64 TB

This TB is a tribute to Commodore 64, the best selling personal computer model of all time.

The Commodore 64 is an 8-bit home computer that was released by Commodore International in August, 1982. The C64 featured a 1 MHz MOS Technology 6510 CPU, 64 kilobytes of RAM with sound and graphics performance that were superior to IBM-compatible computers of that time. (Source: Wikipedia)

This TB contains:

A Commodore key from the original C64 "breadbox" model
A SID chip (MOS Technology 6581 SID), manufacturing week 03/1984
- The SID chip is the "Sound Interface Device" that was one of the main reasons (together with the VIC-II graphics chip) why C64 became so popular.
A piece of the Commodore 64 logo from the original "breadbox" model C64 casing.

I immediately realized what I had in hands, when I saw this TB. Born in 1977, the C64 was my first computer experience. What do I remember? Hours in front of the datasette. Killing joysticks like “Aga & Deti” wrote a while ago. Failing to get the hamster in the “maniac mansion’s” micro wave. Thanks a lot, for sharing!
