To travel on a whim and a prayer. Hopefully, like the wind, restless and unpredictable.
Seaforth Town Hall -
Seaforth Town Hall was built in 1893-94 for $10,000. It was designated under the Ontario Heritage Act in 1976, as a fine example of nineteenth century civic architecture. It is a local landmark with its bell tower and gabled front, prominently positioned on Main Street.
The building accommodates the Municipal Office and Public Utilities Office on the ground floor, and the council Chambers and Seaforth and Area Museum on the second floor. Over the years it has housed the Seaforth Fire Brigade, the offices and jail cell of the Seaforth Police Department, Courts, and the Food Bank. The third floor auditorium was once the site of many gatherings.
In 2001, it will become the civic offices of the newly amalgamated Municipality of Huron East comprising the Town of Seaforth, Village of Brussels, and Townships of Grey, McKillop and Tuckersmith.
