V-Twin-Sailors-Travel-Guide

How to use it: 1. Locate the North Star, Polaris. You can also use it in the Southern Hemisphere if you know how to triangulate the Southern Cross and Centaurus constellations to locate the southern axis point. 2. Hold the quadrant vertical and ensure there is nothing obstructing the weighted string. The weighted string must hang freely, but still lightly brush up against the degree scale. 3. Hold the coin straight out from your face; and line up the two triangle points on the edge of the coin with the North Star. 4. Once you have a good fix on Polaris, carefully pinch the lower end of the string onto the quadrant to prevent it from moving. Be careful to not pinch the string in a way that covers the degree scale. 5. turn the coin around and look on the degree scale to see where the string crosses it. You now have your approximate latitude.

Ui, das ist ja mal ein besonders interessanter TB den wir da in The Black Pearl gesehen haben.
Aber er muss noch ein bisschen auf die Weiterreise warten.

die Coin haben Aventurin und ich im Cache "The Black Pearl" discoverd. Ich gehe mal davon aus, dass das Team das Ablegen noch eintragen wird. Im Papierlog steht es jedenfalls schon richtig 'drin. Ein wirklich sehr schönes Teil. Nun liegt der nicht gerade in einem D3er, von so einem (meinem) kam ich gerade nach einer Cachekontrolle her. Hätte mal andersherum fahren sollen, dann wäre es das gewesen. Allerdings wird der nicht so oft gefunden. 😉

Kein D3er, aber zumindest etwas Näher an der Küste, so dass mehr Häfen und Leuchttürme erreicht werden können. War doch ziemlich weit nach Süden abgedriftet, der Gute. Die D3-Bedingung schränkt die Möglichkeiten aber arg ein, so käme er nicht so weit.

Diese tolle Coin konnte ich nicht hier liegen lassen ^^ da sie schon seit August keinen Weg mehr zurückgelegt hat, nehme ich sie mit nach Kassel. Zwar nicht sehr maritime, allerdings sind dort wesentlich mehr Reisemöglichkeiten, denke ich =)

Auf unserer heutigen Cachekontrollrunde konnten wir eine Regatta auf dem Wockersee beobachten und haben gleich den passenden Coin hiergelassen. 😉
