I'm sending my Cannonball Runner "Give Peace A Chance" TB out on a new mission. It would like to visit the new WWII memorial and the Viet Nam Wall in Washington DC, and while there would like to have it's picture taken in front of United States Institute of Peace, 1200 17th Street NW, Washington, DC 20036. Along it's travels if you have the inclination and can find it in your heart, Give Peace a Chance would like to stop in any VA hospital, (they are all over the place and a google search for V.A. Hospital in your state will bring one up) and visit just one or two lonely forgotten veterans and hear their stories and post them here. Oh, and bring flowers or cookies. Tough goal, but if just one or two vets get a visit it's worth it.

Give Peace A Chance was a racer in the First Annual Cannonball Run If you do not intend to log your visit onto the geocaching.com web site, please DO NOT TAKE the Give Peace A Chance Travel Bug. Its travels and progress require you to log that it is being taken from this geocache, log him if you can, but know when you can’t either.
This Cannonball Runner, came in somewhere near the top 10 or 15 runners.
It's 2nd mission was to log the miles Planet took on the way to Florida and back.
This Travel Bug is a cut from copper plate. I have had this since I was in high school back in the first half of the 1970's. Back in the days of Peace & Love and Flower Power. These copper plate cutouts were used with a glass powder and baked in a high heat oven to put a glass enamel on the copper. This was one that never got enameled, and I've been holding onto it since the Viet Nam War Era. Now just seemed like a good time to send it out there to spread the word. Peace begins at home. Please take photos of peaceful places and things and upload them, if you can. Only head this bug west to bordering states,and do not hop over any states on the way to California. This is it's only goal. Hopefully to win the Cannonball Run Race and experience some great adventures along the way. Please don't take this bug out of the country. I polished it up for the race as it was looking like an old penny.

So this is what's wrong with the world. Peace has been held captive here for almost a year, time to get it moving again!! I will drop it as soon as I find a good place. It's been around for so long that I want to make sure it gets some place that it has a chance to move, but some place that's not likely to get muggled either. Love the history with this one, it's been around a long time.

Today when I noticed the " Give Peace A Chance TB " in a hide that was the closest not found cache to my home coords I wanted to have it in my possession one more time. I dug this bug out of a hole in Indiana back on 04-24-2008 after it went through a divorce....
Hey Planet, I think I may be able to get this little bug a trip to Afghanistan, but only with your permission. Let me know..... It's on my watch list....
