In the nearly 7 years this bug has survived, it has traveled nearly 50,000 miles. It originally started in west central Florida. The new goal, other than keeping the bug alive and moving, is to move it back to near its place of origin - where its owner can verify and check its status before moving it along. BLUE OUTLAW is a good goal to get close to its owner.
Croc & Egret has made it to a park in Indiana. That's ok. The modified goal is to work its way back south - visiting natural areas along the way. This is one of my Natural Florida Travel Bug Series, created to celebrate the diversity of wildlife and natural habitats on Florida’s public lands. The goal of each of these travel bugs is to move about the state visiting federal, state and local agency owned public lands where Geocaching is welcome. Florida is blessed to have such resources. Cache responsibly as you enjoy Natural Florida & CITO.
While you might see an egret on any visit to a natural wetland, consider yourself very lucky to see a crocodile in Natural Florida. They are most common in salt water habitats in extreme south Florida and the upper Keys.
