Golden Gecko wants to go to Yosemite National Park and then return to Boston.

About This Item

Golden Gecko is on a sabbatical from his high tech position in Boston. He'd like to visit his ancestral home in Yosemite National Park He'd love to have his picture taken at Half Dome, El Capitan, and Yosemite Falls.

The route to Yosemite doesn't need to be direct, Golden Gecko is willing to go about anywhere and see about anything. He'd just like pictures of himself anywhere he visits so he can fill his scrap book when he gets home.

Unfortunately, all good things come to an end, and he'll have to return to work, so after visiting Yosemite he wants to return to Boston.

Golden Gecko will be ever so thankful for any help you can give him, or any adventure you can take him on.

    Came in to the Yosemite valley with the Golden Gecko.
    On 06-18-02 took the golden gecko on a rock climb on the manure pile (After Six)

    06-19-02 Golden Gecko got a mule ride up to the trial sign near vernal falls.

    06-20-02 Took the Gecko on the Panorama Trail this is a 8.2 mile hike from Glacier point to the This is the closest the gecko got to Half Dome, I did not make it to the top of half dome with him this trip.

    06-21-02 But we did a climb rock on El Capitan.

    06-22-02 Then did another Rock climb across from Yosemite falls.

    Found Golden Gecko at Gc42a2 cache no one has logged him in yet. We are going to Yosemite on June 16 for a week and we will be climbing Half Dome and doing a climb on el cap. also.

    Just a quick note - we added some pictures to our previous note (Jan. 12). They even came up mostly in order! Good luck, Golden Gecko - we wish we were going to Yosemite soon :)

    We ran into Golden Gecko at Treasure Island in San Francisco bay Saturday January 19th. We got to talking about how he wants to go to Yosemite. So, since we were heading that general direction anyway we gave him a ride. We'll probably take him along geocaching in the Sacramento area first before visiting Yosemite.

    Well, the Golden Gecko didn't get to see the Golden Gate Bridge when we took him out today - it was too darn foggy! But he is happily ensconced in a tupperware container smack in the middle of San Francisco bay (or, at least, in rocks on a beach in the middle...), so when the fog clears he can take a look at the City, Alcatraz, and the bridges. We wish him well on his journey to Yosemite!

    The Golden Gecko enjoyed his cross country plane ride very much, and plans to spend a week in our apartment in Richmond, CA, getting warm (took off from East Coast: 20 degrees; landed on West Coast: 50 degrees) and trying to make friends with our cats (in preparation for any big animals such as bears he might meet in Yosemite).

    He'll move into a new cache next weekend (he hasn't decided where he wants to be placed, but thinks it would be kind of cool to see the Golden Gate bridge). Pictures will be uploaded as soon as we finish the roll (which may be a while 🙂.
