Took this to Mt Townsend in Washington, with my trusty dog, Snickers! along with a great hiking group of CurmudgeonlyGal, 4chin Seeker, and Criminal with his pal Patch. 4chin Seeker and I hooked up at the Edmonds Ferry without the slightest hint that things would go so awry right at the beginning. Knowing the route was going to be confusing, I waypointed the route to indicate which fork to take. However, with the EPE being what it was through that valley, it was hard to tell when and if we were on the right road until we went past where the hairpin turns should have been. The first wrong turn netted us with a nice sharp rock puncturing the tire on my `94 Jeep Grand Cherokee Laredo…coincidentally the same tire that went flat last January during winter camp. Anyway, it was slow enough that we drove the ¼ mile back to the pavement and where there was a somewhat level area and quickly changed out the flat, all the while trying to contact Criminal whom we thought was already at the trailhead 6 ½ miles away as the crow flies… yah… we know. There's a great view up there and well worth the trip to retrieve this little guy!
Cheers!
