Now that I'm retired I would like to take a cruise. I'm not picky about what boat or where we go. Down south or just out fishing, take my picture sailing away or with the big one that did not get away.
Here is the story; I get introduced to geocaching sometime ago, I think it was a Tuesday, and after tagging along with other cachers, borrowing their units I decided it was time to purchase my own. I did a bit of research and decided that this was the product for me. So I head on out to my local store and pick one up. Get home take it out of the box, spend 3.8 seconds skimming the instruction booklet and throw some batteries in and flash it up. My joy lasts only seconds until I notice that there is a eyelash looking hair under the screen. So back it goes, I assume that since I bought it that day they would exchange it and they did. Woohoo, new GPS, again. The new unit works perfect. No weird hairs, nice bright screen and I am now ready to get my first solo cache. We pick a cache quite some distance from the house to make a road trip for our first. Pack the car and head out. Shortly after we left I casually say "I'll turn the GPS off to save the batteries". Little did I know that is the last time that GPS would ever be turned on. Hours later and a few choice words we called time of death.
The manufacturer replaced the unit with out any troubles, now on my third I assume this one would last, what are the chances of getting three bum units? Actually pretty good. This unit failed to turn back on after a few months of sitting on the shelf in the closet. It was stored without batteries in my room. Now a few years out of warranty we felt it has failed us for the last time and refused to get it fixed again.
No hard feeling towards the company, we stuck with them after all this and would recommend them on the stipulation that after it's replaced twice, sell it!
