[ENG] Arachnophobia is pathological fear of spiders. This is the most commin phobia in the world.
The most terrifying spider in Estonia is the Raft spider (Dolomedes fimbriatus). The female's body measures up to 22 millimetres long with a leg span of about 70 mm. Raft spiders are semi-aquatic and live around acidic bogs and in wet acidic grassland, especially where there are small pools of water. Raft spider lives also in the banks on Pirita river. It hunts by running on the surface of water, and can submerge altogether to hide from predators. It also likes to climb on trees and bushes.

[EST] Arahnofoobia on haiglaslik hirm ämblike ees. Seda loetakse maailma kõige enam esinevaks foobiaks. Eestis levinud ämblikest kõige hirmuäratavam on hiidämblik. Hiidämblik on oliivrohelise, umbes 2,5 cm pikkuse kehaga, mida lõbib kollakas vööt. Jalgade siruulatus on umbes 70 mm. Ta elutseb peamiselt niisketes kohtades- kalda ja veetaimedel ning samblikel.Hiidämblik on levinud asukas näiteks Pirita jõe kallastel. Kõigesööja kiskjana toitub ta putukatest, kalamaimudest, lehetäidest jne. Samuti armastab ta saagijahil mööda puid ja põõsaid ronida. NB ! Aardes puudub kirjutusvahend.
