Geocache Description:

It is said that the earth's circle which the human race inhabits is
torn across into many bights, so that great seas run into the land
from the out-ocean.

The lake Lagarfljót (also called Lögurinn) is situated in the east of Iceland near the town of Egilsstaðir. The biggest forest in Iceland, Hallormsstaðarskógur is near the lake as well as a nice waterfall, Hengifoss. Hengifoss, at 118m, is one of the highest waterfalls in the country. Like in the Scottish lake Loch Ness, a monster (called Lagarfljotsormurinn by locals) is believed by some to be living in the depths of the lake Lagarfljót. More at (visit link)
