You will probably get 900 ft higher than the trailhead. there are 3 possible routes. at a guesstimation. taking millard canyon trail to dawn mine trail is the shortest at about 3 mi. the next would be the trail at the top of lake avenue to echo mt then the "right of way" trail north to the cape of good hope then up to the trailhead at dawn mine station. and down. 3.5 mi. guesstimation. or chaney trail at the upper gates. take road to dawn mine trail head. 4 mi guesstimation.
