Crosswinds Marsh Meanderings
For the 5th year in a row, we continue the geocaching community’s recognition of Wayne County’s efforts in providing replacement wildlife wetlands habitat removed by the Detroit Metro Airport expansion. Crosswinds Marsh Wetland Interpretive Preserve is one of the largest man-made wetlands in the country. It was built to replace the wetlands that were paved over to expand Wayne County's Metro Airport(the McNamara terminal). The area is managed by the Wayne County Parks.
At the post coordinates, you will find a sign. Towards the bottom of this sign, you will see three (3) pictures of different type of bees with the names of each underneath. We will use the names of these bees to help solve the puzzle.
B = Total # of vowels in bee to the left
E = Total # of consonants in center bee
N = Total # of letters in bee to the right
C = Total # of letters in center bee
H = Total # of consonants in bee to the left
We will use the above information to solve the below formulas. To check your answer, the sum of the answers to formulas below should be equal to 48.
N42° P.RST W83° UW.XYZ
P = (B*E*N) / (C*H)
R = N + H
S = C - H
T = (C*E) / B
U = (C + H) / E
W = B*H
X = (C + E) - B
Y = E + H
Z = N - H
