EN: It is the second least visited cave in the Moravian Karst opened to the public, but certainly one of the most beautiful ones and rich in dripstone decoration. In its area you can find not only the “classical” cave beauty, but also a few interesting and unusual things. Let’s take a look at them.
DE: Es geht um die am zweit wenigsten besuchte Höhle im Mährischen Karst, die öffentlich zugänglich ist, aber sicher um eine der schönsten und an Tropfsteindekoration reichsten. In ihren Räumen finden Sie nicht nur die „klassische“ Pracht der Höhlen, sondern auch einige interessante und merkwürdige Sachen. Sehen wir uns diese mal an.
CZ: Co vás čeká? 330 schodů, 720 metrů a o něco málo více než hodinka času strávená v teplotě 7 až 8 °C za odborného výkladu průvodce. Dále jedna část jeskyně podbarvená hudbou a jedna s poučným filmem popisujícím děj před přibližně 15000 lety.
Potok Lopač a Krasovský potok v obdobích před bádenskou záplavou (pravděpodobně ve starších třetihorách) utvářely jeskynní komplex Balcarka. Mimo jiné zde vyhloubily unikátní Wilsonovy rotundy, které jsou 10 metrů vysoké, 65 metrů dlouhý Velký dóm a přenádhernou Galerii, která se chlubí nejkrásnější krápníkovou výzdobou celého Moravského krasu. Zajímavostí je také relativně vysoká rychlost růstu některých krápníků, a to 1 mm3 za 8 až 12 let. V hojném počtu zde spatříte Vosí báně, které vznikají ucpáním dutého krápníku (brčka). To je jen malý seznam toho, co při návštěvě jeskyně uvidíte.
Jeskyně Balcarka patří vývojově ke složitému hydrografickému systému ostrovských a vilémovických vod, které vyvěrají v Malém výtoku poblíž Punkevních jeskyní. Přes intenzivní snahy speleologů v posledních desetiletích se do hlavních částí tohoto systému nepodařilo proniknout.

EN: What can you expect? 330 stairs, 720 metres and a little more than an hour spent in the temperatures from 7 to 8°C with an expert commentary from the guide. Furthermore, one part of the cave is tinged with music and another one with an informative film describing a 15,000-year-old process.
The brook Lopač and the Krasovský brook created a cave complex Balcarka in the times before the Badenium (probably in the older Tertiary). Besides other things, they carved out the unique Wilsons rotundas, which are 10 metres high, a 65-metre-long Great Dome and a marvellous Gallery, which has the most beautiful dripstone decoration in the whole Moravian Karst. The interesting thing is also a relatively high growing speed of some of the dripstones, which is 1 mm3 in 8 to 12 years. You can see a lot of Wasp domes, which are made by plugging a hollow dripstone (straw). This is just a short list of what you are going to see on your visit to the cave.
The cave Balcarka belongs to the evolutionary complicated hydrographic system of the waters of Ostrov and Vilémovice, which rise in the Small outflow near the Punkevní (Punkva) caves. Despite the intense efforts of the speleologists in the last decades, they didn’t manage to get into the main parts of this system.

DE:Was können Sie erwarten? 330 Treppen, 720 Meter und ein bisschen mehr als eine Stunde in Temperaturen von 7 bis 8°C mit einer fachmännischen Expertenführung. Weiterhin ist ein Teil der Höhle mit Musik unterlegt und ein Teil mit einem Lehrfilm über einem Prozess vor etwa 15000 Jahren begleitet.
Der Bach Lopač und der Bach Krasovský formten in den Zeiten vor Badenium (wahrscheinlich in dem späten Tertiär) einen Höhlenkomplex Balcarka. Unter anderem höhlten sie die einzigartigen Wilsonrotunden, die über 10 Meter hoch sind, den 65 Meter langen Großen Dom und die wunderschöne Galerie mit der hübschesten Tropfsteindekoration in ganzem Mährischen Karst. Interessant ist auch die relativ hohe Wachstumsgeschwindigkeit von manchen Tropfsteinen, und zwar bis zu 1 mm3 in 8 bis 12 Jahren. Sie können hier auch viele Wespenkuppeln sehen, die durch Verstopfung eines hohlen Tropfsteines (Strohhalmes) gebildet werden. Das ist nur eine kurze Liste von dem, was Sie bei ihrem Besuch der Höhle sehen werden.
Die Höhle Balcarka gehört entwicklungsmäßig zu einem komplexen hydrographischen System der aushöhlenden Wasser von Ostrov und Vilémovice, die in dem Kleinen Auslauf in der Nähe von Punkevnické (Punkva) Höhlen sprudeln. Trotz den intensiven Bemühungen der Speläologen in den letzten Jahrzehnten ist es nicht gelungen, in die Hauptteile dieses Systems einzudringen.
