Geocache Description:

This multi-cache is situated within the town of Maldon. There are many pay and display car parks although we recommend parking at the Promenade Park. If you follow the suggested route for this cache it may take you around 1 and a half hours to complete.

Maldon is situated at the head of the Blackwater Estuary and along The Quay at Hythe you can quite often find, among the moored yachts and boats, the Thames Sailing Barges which continue to use this thriving maritime town as their home.

The river supports much wildlife including seals, geese and swans. The Promenade Park was opened in 1895 and is a popular park throughout the year, with its formal gardens and many recreational activities designed for families.

PLEASE NOTE: The cache location has been destroyed. It was hidden beneath a staircase that was torn down. We have talked with the workers who destroyed the stairs and they have informed us they did not see the cache. That means it may still be there but buried. Inside the cache was a travel bug. Here is a challenge to find the cache and travel bug. Since the TB is a model car made out of metal, the best way to find the cache and travel bug is with a metal detector. So if you have access to a metal detector this is a good challenge for you.

The ground at the location seems to be relatively soft and easily dug. But we don't know how long this will last. Since time is of the essence there is no need to find all the waypoints of the multi-cache, below are the final coordinates where you should search:

N51 43.505 E000 41.713

It is a terrible thing when a travel bug goes missing, here's your chance to resuce a lost one. We will keep this challenge going until the cache and travel bug are recovered, until the area can no longer be searched or until the end of summer.

Good luck!

Anyone who tries to find the cache and who has not logged a find for the cache can do so if they provide proof they were there (photo or description of the area).
